About

.

Welcome to my website: Ageless Nomads.

This website is about life, work and travel strategies for unconventional individuals of all ages.

Yep, this is me

Ageless Nomads are individuals of any age who want to continue working at jobs they love doing, but who also want the freedom to work from home so that they can enjoy other aspects of  life, like traveling, or learning to sail, or developing artistic skills. The beauty of this lifestyle is that ‘home’ can be anywhere in the world you want it to be.

This website and my travels in becoming an Ageless Nomad, came together for me when I started reading about Location Independent Professionals and the way they were using the Internet and modern media to design extraordinary, unconventional nomadic lives for themselves. So I thought, “What the heck? This sounds doable.” I’ve decided to focus on a couple of resources, and design a nomadic lifestyle for myself, one that is fully supported by a virtual business.

Posts and Pages will be focused on practical, how-to information that readers can use to break the huge task of setting up your own online business/location independent lifestyle. This website is an action research-based, case study of what to do, how to do it , and when to do it. For the most part, it is a step-by-step reporting and analysis of what I have done, what resources I have used, what’s worked, what’s not worked as well as I had hoped, and what’s been a complete disaster!

The Posts and Pages of this website provide information that will help unconventional individuals of all ages develop a uniquely modern Location Independent lifestyle.

To help make the process of becoming location independent a bit easier, I have identified four sets of skills that every location independent professional should be literate in:

  1. Technical Skills — this are the fundamental skills that you need to create an online business with,
  2. Entrepreneurial Skills — these are the strategic planning, business development, marketing skills that you need to grow your online business with,
  3. Lifestyle Design Skills — these are the skills that you need to enjoy your new lifestyle with, and
  4. Communication Skills — these are the skills that are needed to create meaning online and provides the foundation through which the other three skills can generate success.

Posts and pages will focus on individual skills (as well as other material) — just follow the Tags for information related to each skill set.

And now for a bit about me: I am married with two grown kids — a son who still lives at home, and a daughter who married last year and now lives in Burlington Ontario. Oh, yes, I also have a 18 year old Abyssinian/Tabby cat named Abby.

For most of my working life I have worked remotely, as a University Student, as an employee, and as a solo entrepreneur, only going in to an office or a classroom as needed. I have also worked for a number of years as an employee, so I understand and can identify the different skill sets required by employees, distance education students and entrepreneurs.

Somehow, along the way, I have managed to accumulate a couple of academic degrees, some certifications and an award or two. These can be viewed here, on my Certificates, Degrees and Awards page.

My most recent accomplishment has been to become a Certified Professional Retirement Coach.

As a Certified Professional Retirement Coach, I can help you design your unique Authentic Lifestyle.
