Are You Considering Moving To A New Country?

As I sit here in Southern Ontario, sweltering under a prolonged heat wave, I can’t help but think about moving to another country. One where the climate is a little more moderate – not so hot and humid in the summer and not so cold in the winter. Any suggestions??

Actually, I have gone through one major move to another country – and return home again. In 1989 I moved to New Zealand with my husband and two kids, fully expecting to live there for the rest of my life. Nine years after we touched down in Wellington, we returned to Canada. During that nine years, almost everyone that we met who had moved to New Zealand from another country had returned home.

Although we thought we knew what we were doing, there were obviously a lot of things we just hadn’t prepared ourselves for – and we weren’t the only ones.

If you are thinking about making a major move to another country and aren’t sure whether you are prepared or not, check out my article 10 Things To Consider Before Moving To A  New Country. It poses a number of questions that you might just want to try to answer before you start packing.

The great thing about being a nomad is that you do have the freedom to move about from country to country. Have you tried moving to a new country? Have you stayed or returned home?

Search Engine Optimizing Your Blog: Inserting Keywords into Meta-Tags

.

Completed So Far:

With the basic Search Engine Optimizing techniques now firmly under control, there is one other technique that’s still relatively easy to do, but does require playing with HTML coding.

HTML is what keeps the Internet loaded with great sites. Source: Heberger Site, Flickr, Creative Common

This technique is certainly not crucial to improving the search engine ranking of your site. This is just another technique that helps slightly improve an inexact science.
.

New Developments:

Search engine bots and spiders don’t see web pages the same way that we do. Bots and spiders read the HTML coding that creates the web pages. Mixed in with all of that coding are a couple of places where someone who is HTML literate can include keywords and descriptions that can be read by bots and spiders, and help with the search engine optimizing of your site.

Four main HTML tag locations that can be keyword coded are the <title></title>, <meta name=”Description” content….>, <meta name=”keywords” content….> and the alt tag (used to describe images).

Not all blogs use these HTML codes, or offer easy access to these codes, so I’m not going to discuss or describe this SEO technique. I just wanted to mention that this SEO technique does exist, so that anyone that is interested in doing more with using HTML coding to increase the SEO of their site, can explore this technique.

My understanding is that it is also possible to insert keywords into meta tags when creating PDF files through Adobe programs. Again, not something I have done (yet) but its nice to know that this technique does exist if I ever wanted to pursue it.

.

Next Step:

This is the last SEO technique that I wanted to mention. Using the SEO techniques that have been mentioned so far should result in a working blog, that can be found by search engines, and should contain some pretty good content. Other technical skills, as well as hardware and software that are used to create location independent enterprises will be explored. In the meantime, its time to start marketing the blog.
